Th e use of cauterization is described, although the electrosurgical unit is mentioned as a simple and effi cient technology in the dental treatment service.Desde la antigüedad, se conoce que la cauterización como procedimiento permite el tratamiento de heridas, pero, sus consecuencias pueden ser dañinas en múltiples casos. El objetivo del estudio fue describir la cauterización de crecimientos gingivales en el sector posterior interproximal mediante el método hipocrático: ventajas y desventajas.
