The results showed a significant decrease in compressive and flexural strength with increasing pigment concentration, the reduction being up to 31.4% and 16.7%, respectively. Despite these decreases, there will be an improvement in visibility in the dark and an increase in the luminous intensity of the pigmented concrete. However, an increase in water absorption and lower resistance to freeze-thaw cycles was also found, affecting the durability of the material. The study concludes that photoluminescent pigments have a negative impact on the compressive and flexural strength as well as the durability of concrete and suggests that, although photoluminescent pigments provide aesthetic value, their use in structural applications should be carefully evaluated to balance the visual benefits with the structural integrity and durability of concrete.Este estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar el impacto de los pigmentos fotoluminiscentes en las propiedades mecánicas del concreto, específicamente su resistencia a la compresión y flexión. El tipo de investigación fue descriptiva con una revisión de trabajos previos experimentales que evaluaron concretos con pigmentos en concentraciones del 0%, 1%, 2%, y 4%. Los resultados mostraron una disminución significativa en la resistencia a la compresión y flexión con el aumento de la concentración de pigmentos, siendo la reducción de hasta un 31.4% y 16.7%, respectivamente. A pesar de estas disminuciones, se observó una mejora en la visibilidad en la oscuridad y un aumento en la intensidad luminosa del concreto con pigmentos. Sin embargo, también se encontró un incremento en la absorción de agua y una menor resistencia a ciclos de hielo-deshielo, afectando la durabilidad del material.
