In "Liberación" we note common topics for the narrative construction of the prison experience, such as injustice, memory and fear. We observe that these topics metaphorize confinement as an insufferable and hopeless space, mainly for Jesús Palomino, the protagonist, whose tragic states or psychological disturbances increase as a result of confinement. Our analysis concentrates on exploring the protagonist in the scenes influenced by these three topics.El presente trabajo tiene como finalidad desarrollar un análisis textual de «Liberación», un cuento que forma parte de las narraciones de César Vallejo reunidas bajo el título de Escalas (1923), obra impresa en los Talleres Tipográficos de la Penitenciaría de Lima. En «Liberación» notamos tópicos comunes para la construcción narrativa de la experiencia carcelaria, tales como la injusticia, la memoria y el miedo. Observamos que estos tópicos metaforizan la reclusión como un espacio insufrible y desesperanzador, principalmente para Jesús Palomino, el protagonista, cuyos estados trágicos o perturbaciones psicológicas se incrementan producto del confinamiento.
