The results obtained show that the Moquegua River has very high, high, moderate and low levels of landslide and flood hazards. The environmental vulnerability of the basin was determined by the relationship between environmental vulnerability zones and hazards, and by integrating the hazard maps identified in the study area. A very high degree was obtained, which means that the occurrence of floods or landslides tends to be more susceptible to anthropogenic activities or contamination in the basin, and that there is high danger near the micro-watershed. In times of flooding, there is a probability of overflowing, which could affect the nearby population.La investigación tiene como objetivo evaluar las zonas de vulnerabilidad y peligros ambientales identificados en la cuenca del rio Moquegua mediante un modelamiento geoespacial. La evaluación de peligros se ejecutó, según Crepani y et al. (2001), el cual consiste en realizar mapas temáticos mediante un análisis de factores, ponderación de atributos y álgebra de mapas. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que el rio Moquegua presenta niveles de amenazas por deslizamientos e inundaciones en niveles muy alto, alto, moderado y bajo. La vulnerabilidad ambiental de la cuenca se determinó mediante la relación entre zonas de vulnerabilidad ambiental y peligros, al integrar los mapas de amenazas identificadas en el área de estudio, se obtuvo un grado muy alto, significando que la ocurrencia de inundaciones o deslizamiento tienden a ser más susceptibles frente a actividades antropogénicas o de contaminación en la cuenca, observándose que existe un peligro alto cerca de la microcuenca.
