Teachers highlighted the importance of media education for the development of digital competencies and media literacy in the post-COVID-19 context, highlighting the need to improve digital security and privacy. Perceptions included concerns about safe data handling and protection against cyber threats, as well as ethical and responsible use of ICTs. Teachers perceive media education as essential to face the challenges of the digital environment and consider that the pandemic accelerated the need to integrate ICTs in education.Este estudio explora la percepción de la educación mediática post COVID-19 entre los docentes de la generación X y Y de una universidad pública en Tacna, Perú. Se utilizó un enfoque cualitativo con entrevistas semiestructuradas a ocho docentes. Las entrevistas se analizaron mediante codificación temática siguiendo los lineamientos del Currículo ALFAMED. Los docentes destacaron la importancia de la educación mediática para el desarrollo de competencias digitales y la alfabetización mediática en el contexto post COVID-19, resaltando la necesidad de mejorar la seguridad digital y la privacidad. La percepción incluyó preocupaciones sobre el manejo seguro de datos y la protección contra ciber amenazas, así como el uso ético y responsable de las TIC.
