This study is quantitative, descriptive and correlational, which pretends identify if the relationship between the study varia bles exists or not. The main variable on the severity of consume was the number of substances currently used by each of the participants. There were no correlation values between the test results and the consume characteristics, except in the age of begin with the leve) of family functioning and if the participants currently have family visits in the institution with the number of substances consumed, this gives traces about the relationship between the family structure as one of the variables to consider in the beginning and rehabilitation of the consume of psychoactive substances.Este trabajo investigativo tiene como objetivo identificar los factores socio-familiares influyentes en el consumo de sustancias psicoactivas de una institución de rehabilitación en el departamento del Quindío, en busca del objetivo se aplicó el instrumento APGAR Familiar y una ficha de caracterización de consumo de sustancias psicoactivas a 37 integrantes de la institución con edad comprendida entre 18 y 55 años, la mayoría de ellos hombres, la edad de consumo promedio está en los 11 años. El estudio realizado es de tipo cuantitativo, descriptivo y correlaciona', con el que se pretendió establecer si existe o no relación entre las variables de estudio. Se tomó como variable principal acerca de la gravedad del consumo el número de sustancias que a la actualidad usa cada uno de los participantes.
