First, some key concepts of this philosopher's thought will be developed, such as politics, subjectivation, the people and democracy, as well as some reflections on the concept of post-democracy. Second, through the concept of post-democracy, the Chilean democratic regime will be analyzed, highlighting criticisms and social movements that emerged during the post-dictatorship period. Third, the October process is addressed as the emergence of a new people as well as the repercussions of the Agreement for Peace and the New Political Constitution, a process that is still open today.El presente ensayo busca describir y analizar a través de la perspectiva filosófica de Jacques Rancière el denominado estallido social del 18 de octubre del 2019 como una rebelión popular y democrática. Primero, se desarrollarán algunos conceptos clave del pensamiento de este filósofo como lo son la política, la subjetivación, el pueblo y la democracia como algunas reflexiones en torno al concepto de posdemocracia. Segundo, se analizará, mediante el concepto de posdemocracia, el régimen democrático chileno, destacando críticas y los movimientos sociales que emergieron durante el periodo de la postdictadura.
