This legislative initiative was aimed to revalue the cultural aspects of a town in the Peruvian Andes, it was not without critical and disputes between those trying to represent those who were represented; that is, between those who developed and promoted the law and the authorities and residents of Tupe. Thus, in this article an analysis of the law is provided, addressing their history, the actors were at play, content, and above all, the tensions originated by the representation and recognition of tupina society.A finales del año 2013, el Congreso de la República del Perú aprobó por unanimidad la Ley N.° 30153, ley que declara de interés nacional y necesidad pública la protección, investigación y promoción de la cultura e idioma Jaqaru, y de los monumentos arqueológicos ubicados en el distrito de Tupe, provincia de Yauyos, departamento de Lima. Esta iniciativa legislativa que tuvo como fin revalorar los aspectos culturales de una localidad de los Andes peruanos, no estuvo exenta a críticas y disputas entre quienes intentaban representar con aquellos que eran representados; es decir, entre quienes elaboraron y promovieron la ley y las autoridades y pobladores de Tupe.
