We emphasize the role of the science analysing and informing about decisions in the sustainable use of natural resources.Este trabajo se centra en las recientes decisiones tomadas por el Ministerio de Agricultura del Perú sobre la recolección, propagación y siembra de especies de quina. Señalamos las deficiencias de estas decisiones a la luz de los avances en el conocimiento de la taxonomía y sistemática de Cinchona.
