Blood samples were taken on days 60 and 21 before calving, at calving, and at 30, 60 and 90 days post-calving. Plasma values of calcium (Ca2+), phosphorus (P), magnesium (Mg) potassium (K+), sodium (Na+) and chlorine (Cl) were determined. None of the mineral concentration values showed significant differences between crosses and the values were among the reference values for dairy cows.El objetivo de este trabajo fue evaluar la concentración de macrominerales en sangre de vacas lecheras de cuatro genotipos bajo condiciones de pastoreo libre en la provincia de Napo, Ecuador. Se evaluaron 36 vacas de primer parto, cruzas de Bos indicus con Gir, Brown Swiss, Jersey y Sahiwal. Se tomaron muestran de sangre los días 60 y 21 antes del parto, en el parto y a los 30, 60 y 90 días del parto y se determinaron los valores en plasma de calcio (Ca2+), fósforo (P), magnesio (Mg), potasio (K+), sodio (Na+) y cloro (Cl).
