Objectives. Know the life project, dreams, visions and goals of the sixth year students of the Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. Methods. Observational, descriptive, cross-sectional, with a quantitative approach, using an open-question questionnaire as an instrument. Results. 94% said they have a life project, 98% have dreams, 96% have vision and 76% have short and long term goals. 52% had as a dream finish the race, residence and successful specialty, practice the profession, have a family and travel. 86% stated that they had the vision of being a good professional, a good specialist, an entrepreneur, working in the state, being a teacher, a researcher, having a family, traveling, having their own home and being happy. Conclusions. In the medical students of the sixth year of the Faculty of Medicine UNMSM, 94% reported having life project, 98% have dreams, vision 96%, and 76% have goals short and long term.Introducción. El proyecto de vida como instrumento pedagógico ayudará al estudiante de medicina a elaborar una visión de futuro que garantice su permanencia en la universidad, al asumir que la profesión no es el fin, sino el medio para hacer realidad su sueño de un futuro mejor para él, su familia y la sociedad, con resultados académicos satisfactorios, menores índices de desaprobación y deserción, al mejorar su capacidad de tomar decisiones. Objetivos. Conocer el proyecto de vida, sueños, visiones y metas de los estudiantes del sexto año de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. Métodos. Estudio observacional, descriptivo transversal, de enfoque cuantitativo, utilizando como instrumento un cuestionario de preguntas abiertas. Resultados. El 94% manifestaron tener proyecto de vida, 98% tener sueños, 96% tener visión y 76% tener metas a corto y largo plazo. El 52% tuvieron como sueño culminar la carrera, la residencia y la especialidad con éxito, ejercer la profesión, tener familia y viajar. El 86% manifestaron tener por visión ser buen profesional, buen especialista, empresario, trabajar en el estado, ser docente, investigador, tener familia, viajar, tener casa propia y ser feliz. Conclusiones.
