Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) is a public health problem of global scope, whose projections if its spread is not contained indicate that by the year 2050 it would become the leading cause of death worldwide with a serious impact on the world economy. This situation has determined the application of the "One Health" approach for its containment. The approach recognizes that the health of people, animals, plants and the environment are closely related and interdependent. Since 2015, the WHO, in coordination with other organizations, approved the Global Action Plan to face AMR, this determined that the Member States elaborate and implement their national plans. Peru began the approach to contain AMR applying the "One Health" approach since 2017. Some progress has been made in the implementation of the National Plan but also the challenges and actions pending to be achieved.
