By incorporating workers’ perceptions, a new approach to accident prevention can be developed to optimize risk management and introduce innovative prevention strategies. This research study aimed to determine the relationship between workers’ perceptions of accidents and risk management within a construction company. A non-experimental quantitative approach was used and surveys were employed to gather accurate data. The study tested the direct relationship between construction workers’ perception of accidents and the company’s risk management strategies.La mayoría de los accidentes de trabajo ocurren como consecuencia de la falta de implementación de acciones preventivas que garanticen un ambiente de trabajo seguro. Al investigar los accidentes, es muy común pasar por alto la opinión de los trabajadores, motivo por el cual la solución se aborda únicamente desde la perspectiva de la empresa. Al incorporar la percepción de los trabajadores, se aporta un nuevo enfoque sobre la prevención de accidentes para optimizar la gestión de riesgos e incorporar nuevas formas de practicar la prevención. El propósito de este estudio fue identificar la relación entre la percepción de los trabajadores sobre los accidentes y la gestión de riesgos en una empresa de construcción. Para tal fin, se utilizó un enfoque cuantitativo no experimental y se emplearon encuestas para recolectar información precisa.
