We worked with a qualitative methodology focused on process tracing through the analysis of multi-sited narratives about humans and non-humans. Non-participant observation, documentary analysis, and anonymous semi-structured interviews with fourteen spokespersons of the project were used. The results suggest that the project collapse was caused by the fragility of the alliance system since the spokespersons were unable to centralize the management of the Local Implementation Network or translate the sociotechnical controversies around water, given its multidimensional nature.Esta investigación recurre a la caja de herramientas de la Teoría del Actor-Red para abrir la caja negra detrás del colapso del Proyecto Integral de Agua Potable de Pasco, una ambiciosa intervención pública infraestructural suscitada tanto por las condiciones locales de contaminación como por la carencia del recurso hídrico. Se trabajó con una metodología cualitativa centrada en rastreo de procesos mediante el análisis de las narrativas multisituadas acerca de humanos y no-humanos. Se empleó observación no-participante, análisis documentario y entrevistas semi-estructuradas anónimas a catorce portavoces del proyecto.
