The straight lines may be oriented toward forming children into citizen-subjects who are orderly, oriented toward progress, and united with an imagined national community. Furthermore, the spectacle form of school line-ups creates a connection between the norms of citizenship taught in school and the multiple spectacles in which children participate in communal agricultural life. These preliminary results draw attention to the importance of considering spatial organization both in and outside of school as a significant element in citizenship education and a key topic for reflection in the promotion of inclusive citizenship.Este artículo, basado en trabajo de campo en una escuela primaria de la provincia de Lucanas (Ayacucho, Perú), destaca el papel comunicativo que tiene la organización espacial de los niños en las formaciones escolares. Sugiero que la formación podría ser particularmente destacada en comunidades campesinas que históricamente han quedado fuera de lo imaginario nacional—la forma de líneas rectas podría estar orientada a formar sujeto-ciudadanos que sean ordenados, orientados al progreso y unidos con una comunidad nacional imaginada. Además la forma de espectáculo crea un vínculo entre las normas de ciudadanía que se enseñan en la formación y los múltiples espectáculos en los cuales participan los niños en la vida comunal campesina.
