However, the offerings of vessels, usually grouped around the deceased, which have been intentionally selected, have not been studied. This research aims to determine the social implications in the selection of offerings from vessels from Tombs 1 and 3 of Huaca el Pueblo-Úcupe. Two elite funerary contexts from the Middle Mochica phase, containing an adult man and an infant with 56 and 28 complete vessel offerings respectively. Through a morphological and decorative analysis, we conclude that the selection of vessels was made according to social canons of identity and religion.Las investigaciones arqueológicas sobre los contextos funerarios mochicas en la costa norte del Perú se han concentrado en establecer la jerarquía social mochica, identificando gobernantes, sacerdotes o guerreros de acuerdo a los objetos suntuosos que ostentaban estos personajes enterrados. Sin embargo, las ofrendas de vasijas, usualmente agrupadas alrededor de los difuntos, las cuales han sido seleccionadas intencionalmente, no han sido estudiadas. Esta investigación tiene como objetivo determinar las implicancias sociales en la selección de ofrendas de vasijas de las tumbas 1 y 3 de Huaca el Pueblo - Úcupe, dos contextos funerarios de élite de la fase Mochica Medio que contenían a un hombre adulto y a un infante con 56 y 28 ofrendas de vasijas completas, respectivamente.
