The adoption of this type of technology will enable the creation of jobs, the protection of the environment, the international trade and the economic development.En el presente artículo analizamos el papel de la tecnología con relación al desarrollo económico y el medio ambiente en los países en vías de desarrollo. Se plantea la adopción de una "tecnología adecuada" que es la tecnología más conveniente para un país pobre, la cual debe ser el resultado de un amplio análisis y discusión por todos los sectores involucrados en la toma de decisiones y debe formar parte del Plan de Desarrollo Sostenible de cada país.
