The main objective of this research is to demonstrate that the North American educational policies and curricula in Albert Giesecke's rectory had an influence on Peruvian art studies. The analysis approach used is artistic historiography, in this sense the University Magazine, documents and critical bibliography of Luis Eduardo Valcárcel and José Uriel García were reviewed. Whose axis of inquiry will demonstrate its emergence with the qualification of the chair of History of Peruvian art (1917). As a result, when writing the texts, it was verified that their existence corresponds to protect the Castizo art of the Hispanic, correlated in works by Indo-mestizo artists. The research allows us to conclude that artistic historiography is an expression of the provincial intellectual to rewrite the national identity.El presente artículo plantea la idea de que la historiografía artística cusqueña (1918-1925), se fundamenta en análisis de contenidos ideológicos indo-mestizos que pretendieron cohesionar la historia nacional a través de objetos artísticos. El objetivo principal de esta investigación, es demostrar que las políticas educativas norteamericanas y planes de estudios en el rectorado de Albert Giesecke, tuvieron influencia en estudios de arte peruano. El enfoque de análisis utilizado es la historiografía artística, en este sentido se revisó la Revista Universitaria, documentos y bibliografía crítica de Luis Eduardo Valcárcel y José Uriel García. Cuyo eje de indagación permitió demostrar su eclosión con la habilitación de la cátedra de Historia del arte peruano (1917). Como resultado, al escrutar los textos se comprobaron que su existencia corresponde para proteger el arte castizo del hispano, correlacionado en obras de artistas indo-mestizos.
