Sumario:Many natural phenomena, in the context of the inverse Compton scattering, in which highly energeticphotons are generated by collisions with electrons, have aroused scientic interest in dierent areas suchas physics, chemistry, biology and medicine. In this work, a review of the classical Compton scattering ispresented, as well as a theoretical analysis of the inverse Compton scattering, deducing the relationshipbetween the photon energy before and after the collision with electrons. Finally, some applications ofthe inverse Compton scattering in astronomy, physics and medicine are presented.
