It is found that, although there is no specific regulation, the figure of the position incorporated in a legacy within the will or in a donation could protect them.Los animales de compañía carecen de derechos sucesorios debido a que en el derecho peruano no existe libertad absoluta de testar, por lo que es necesario encontrar la figura jurídica que permita a sus dueños tener la posibilidad de disponer su protección cuando ellos hayan fallecido. La presente investigación pretende determinar cómo se podría proteger a los animales de compañía a la muerte del titular en el derecho peruano.
