This study examines the impact of these factors on the purchase of cancer insurance in the Peruvian market during the COVID-19 pandemic, using a review and comparison of different authors’ positions. Regarding the legal factor, Peru has approved the National Cancer Act and its regulations, which aim to improve services for cancer patients. However, there is a delay in the development of procedures to implement this law. Economically, various indicators predict positive growth projections for Peru in coming months, which bodes well for insurance supply and demand. Politically, the Peruvian government has faced several crises in recent years due to corruption, social conflicts, and an inadequate response to international events affecting the country, including the consequences of the war between Ukraine and Russia and the COVID-19 crisis. In this sense, there is a relationship between legal, political, and economic factors and the consumer’s decision to purchase cancer insurance, as recurrent crises could influence consumer’s decision to purchase insurance or prioritize other expenses in their consumer basket.La decisión de compra de un bien o servicio es afectado por diversos factores que existen en su entorno, tales como el factor legal, económico y político. En la presente investigación se realizó la revisión y contraste de diversas posturas de autores para analizar cómo estos factores afectan la decisión de compra de los seguros oncológicos en el mercado peruano, durante la pandemia por COVID-19. Respecto al factor legal, actualmente el Perú ha aprobado la Ley nacional del Cáncer y su reglamento, que garantizará un mejor servicio a los pacientes oncológicos. Sin embargo, hay demoras en la elaboración de los procedimientos para implementar dicha norma. Respecto al factor económico, el análisis de diversos indicadores prevé proyecciones favorables de crecimiento económico para el Perú en los próximos meses, lo que es positivo para la oferta y demanda de los seguros. En cuanto al factor político, en los últimos años, el gobierno peruano transita por una serie de crisis políticas a consecuencia de casos de corrupción, recurrentes conflictos sociales y deficiente capacidad de respuesta ante los acontecimientos internacionales que afectan el país, como las consecuencias de la guerra entre Ucrania y Rusia y la crisis iniciada por la COVID-19.
