These problems derive due to the characteristics of the economy, as well as the nature of a large informal sector or the deficit of physical capital and public infrastructure. It is worth to note that the duration of these problems will depend on the quality of the public policies that will be implemented to achieve the benefits of immigration. Finally, some policy recommendations are proposed.El artículo reafirma los efectos positivos de la inmigración en las economías de destino en el largo plazo, sin embargo, pretende explicar los problemas que se presentan en el corto plazo, a propósito de la reciente inmigración venezolana en el Perú. Estos problemas se derivan de las características de la economía peruana como la presencia de un amplio sector informal o el déficit de capital físico e infraestructura pública. Asimismo, la duración de estos problemas dependerá de la calidad de las políticas públicas que se implementen para alcanzar los beneficios de la inmigración.
