To understand the regional expansion of this coloniality, the first section resorted to a transdisciplinary methodology on the formation of a knowledge for the studies of the society, the scientific-rational, in particular the global positioning of the Cartesian method as the foundation of scientific knowledge; the second, revises the institutionalization of the social sciences and the Assigned Mission: Foundation of faculties and departments in the universities of the region, grouping the disciplines and professionals in charge of studying the society in its components. These were the mechanisms to preserve the coloniality ofknowledge in relevant academic and intellectual circles of the continent.Se propone evidenciar la colonialidad del saber al interior de las ciencias sociales en América Latina y apela a teorías inmersas en el debate organizado alrededor del nuevo paradigma, el posoccidentalismo. Para entender la expansión a escala regional de esta colonialidad, el primer acápite recurre a una metodología transdisciplinar sobre la formación de un conocimiento para los estudios de la sociedad, el científco-racional,en particular el posicionamiento global del método cartesiano como fundamento del saber científco; el segundo, revisa la institucionalización de las ciencias sociales y la misión asignada: fundación de facultades y departamentos en las universidades de la región, agrupando las disciplinas y profesionales encargados de estudiar la sociedad en sus componentes.
