In order to place the monument in context, we used diverse sources that allow us to reconstruct the history of Mollendo, in addition to the in situ recognition of the city, the Forga Castle, and the related buildings.Este artículo está dedicado a un monumento símbolo de la ciudad de Mollendo, el castillo de José Miguel Forga. El edificio es Patrimonio de la Nación y se encuentra bastante deteriorado por el tiempo, la incuria y el vandalismo. Es un tema de actualidad para la problemática patrimonial, debido a que los mollendinos se han propuesto restaurarlo y ponerlo en valor.
