Since 1966, he has been a university professor in Peru, mainly at the National University of Engineering (UNI), where he was rector between 1984 and 1989 and has directed the History Center of UNI. He has contributed more than 30 books and numerous articles in national and international journals. His most recent publication is “La Categoría de Cosificación en Lukács”. Currently, he continues to actively participate in intellectual debates related to the sociology of literature, Lukacsian Marxism, postmodern perspectives and the philosophy of interculturality, which have earned him the “Francisco Miró Quesada Cantuarias 2024” Philosophy Prize, awarded by the Peruvian Society of Philosophy.José Ignacio López Soria es un filósofo e historiador nacido en España en 1937. Llegó al Perú en 1957 como novicio jesuita. Su formación académica abarca humanidades clásicas, literatura, filosofía e historia, con especializaciones en narrativa latinoamericana, filosofía moderna, filosofía de la existencia, historia de la emancipación peruana, pensamiento lukacsiano, historia de la ingeniería peruana y filosofía de la interculturalidad. Desde 1966, ha ejercido la enseñanza universitaria en el Perú, principalmente en la Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería (UNI), donde fue rector entre 1984 y 1989 y ha dirigido el Centro de Historia de la UNI. Ha contribuido con más de 30 libros y numerosos artículos en revistas nacionales e internacionales. Su más reciente publicación es “La Categoría de Cosificación en Lukács”.
