The results showed significant differences of the composition of hidrocarbons in the different sampes, being obtained information related to the posible contamination with the petroleum; the hydrocarbons seem be derived of biogenic land and marine sources, evidenced with a strong odd carbon in the n-alkanes.A lo largo de las costas de Pucusana, San Bartolo y Ancón - Perú, se colectaron muestras de algas marinas pardas de la especie Macrocystis pyrifera, en donde se hicieron estudios de hidrocarburos, identificándose la presencia de n-alcanos constituidos principalmente por cadenas carbonadas de n-C15H32 hasta n-C30H62. El método involucró un proceso de saponificación de los lípidos y separación de hidrocarburos en n-hexano, purificación en cromatografía con silica gel e identificación en cromatografía de gases.
