The Ciudad Universitaria de Caracas, World Heritage site, represents multiple values: to be a masterpiece of creative genius, product of the architect Carlos Raúl Villanueva and a team of professionals and avant-garde artists, and because it represents a period in history of architecture on a set where are expressed in an outstanding manner the principles of the Modern Movement, while rescuing concepts of Venezuelan traditional architecture. This article does not intend to analyze their values or detail the stages of construction, as others have already developed in so an appropriate way. Our aim is explain briefly the main problems faced by the heritage preservation, from the perspective of the architectural conservator within the site management organization. Manage the conservation of a heritage site it is not an easy task, especially when we note that, sixty years after its inauguration, becomes a true reflection of the country we have, with their virtues and their conflicts. Despite this situation, we are moving forward knowledge, conservation and enhancement of our world heritage site.
