In this research we study the competition between ports. To evaluate the ports in this work we take into account the geographical location and physical conditions and infrastructure, the frequency of vessels, as well as the quality and availability of services. The new port geography of Mexico shows the primacy of some major ports. Differences are also established between a disconnected port.La política de apertura comercial que caracteriza al modelo en el económico neoliberal aplicado por México exige un rol diferente en los puertos. La globalización trae regiones ganadoras y regiones perdedoras. Un examen de la realidad regiones portuaria de México en los últimos 20 años muestra un cambio en las jerarquías. En esta investigación estudiamos la competencia que hay entre los puertos. Para evaluar los puertos en este trabajo se toma en cuenta la situación geográfica y las condiciones físicas e infraestructura, la frecuencia de navíos, así como la calidad y disponibilidad de servicios. La nueva geografía portuaria de México muestra la primacía de algunos puertos principales.
