Publications from 2017 and 2020 were analyzed, they came from the Ministry of Education (MINEDU), National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), Institute of Peruvian Studies (IEP), Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), National Superintendence of University Higher Education (SUNEDU) and World Bank, in addition to other publications of vital interest related to adolescence and vocation. Therefore, the following research questions arise: Why do youths interrupt their personal education? Is it enough for youths to be sure about their vocation? What role does the school play in this process? Based on the results, it was concluded that there are deficient structural factors, from basic education to higher education, which prevent a suitable preparation in both academic and personal. In addition, improvements in the supervision of national curriculum implementation, among others, are recommended El presente ensayo tiene como objetivo analizar las principales causas educativas que impiden que los adolescentes puedan realizar una elección vocacional que les permita vivir este proceso con satisfacción, como parte de su realización personal. Se analizaron las publicaciones del 2017 y 2020 del Ministerio de Educación (MINEDU), Instituto Nacional de Estadística e Informática (INEI), Instituto de Estudios Peruanos (IEP), Organización para la Cooperación y el Desarrollo Económicos (OCDE), Superintendencia Nacional de Educación Superior Universitaria (SUNEDU) y Banco Mundial, así como otras de vital interés relacionadas a la adolescencia y la vocación. Surgen las siguientes preguntas de investigación: ¿por qué el adolescente interrumpe su formación personal? ¿Es suficiente que el adolescente tenga clara su vocación? ¿Qué rol juega la escuela en este proceso? Se concluyó que existen factores estructurales deficientes, desde la educación básica hasta la educación superior que impiden una conveniente preparación, tanto académica como personal.
