Another relevant factor is the media, which mostly broadcast programming with high rates of violence, generating stereotypes that influence behavior. These situations are not only confined to the home space, but are reflected in the educational institution, where interaction with other children generates socialization conflicts, causing a worrying school coexistence, where educational actors face conflicting situations that break the normal environment. that it must be tolerant and free of violence. In accordance with the above, it allows us to highlight the importance of this research to try to determine the relationship between social skills and school coexistence in basic education students.Considerando que las habilidades sociales han sido manejadas de manera deficiente en los estudiantes debido a diversos factores como es el caso de hogares disfuncionales, falta de economía que obliga muchas veces a los padres dejar a sus menores hijos al cuidado de familiares o personas ajenas a la familia, a quienes no se les interesa la formación de habilidades sociales de los niños. Otro factor relevante son los medios de comunicación que mayormente transmiten programaciones con acentuados índices de violencia, generando estereotipos que influyen en los comportamientos. Estas situaciones no solamente se circunscriben en el espacio hogareño, sino que se reflejan en la institución educativa, donde la interacción con los demás niños genera conflictos de socialización, provocando una convivencia escolar preocupante, donde los actores educativos enfrentan situaciones conflictivas que resquebrajan el normal ambiente que debe ser tolerante y libre de violencia.
