The tick identified in the present area (AA.HH San Luis) it was only, being the identified species the Rhipicephalus sanguineus (100% of the dogs with ticks N = 214). as for the illness degree, one has that 56.32% of the animals is infested, in front of 43.68% that don't possess ticks. The sector of the AA.HH with more garrapatosis incidence is the sector four with 17.1%. Mostly the animals that live in the house / he/she remains silent  (65.1%) they are those that present illness for ticks, contrary to those that live alone in its house. The age of the animal more affected by ticks they are the adults (70.1%). in relation to the sex, it was that the males are those most affected ones (63%), and as for the race of the animal, the crossing animals or Creoles are those most affected ones (77%), all this due that is an area with faulty socioeconomic and cultural level. Besides that the illnesses for ticks in most is light (83.6%).El presente trabajo se realizó en los cinco sectores del AA.HH  San Luis del distrito de Amarilis – Huánuco, ubicado en la zona oeste del distrito en mención. El objetivo fue identificar las especies de garrapatas y el grado de infestación en caninos en relación a la raza, sexo, edad y tipo de alimentación. La garrapata identificada en la presente zona (AA.HH San Luis) fue única, siendo la especie identificada el Rhipicephalus sanguineus (100%  de los perros con garrapatas N= 214). En cuanto al grado de infestación, se tiene que  un 56.32% de los animales están infestados, frente a un 43.68% que no poseen garrapatas. El sector del AA.HH con mayor incidencia de garrapatosis es el sector cuatro con un 17.1%.  Mayormente los animales que viven en la casa/calle (65.1%) son los que presentan infestación por garrapatas, a diferencia de los que viven solo en su casa. La edad del animal  más afectada por garrapatas son los adultos (70.1%). En relación al sexo, resultó que los  machos son los  más afectados (63%), y en cuanto a la raza del animal, los animales de cruce o criollos son los más afectados (77%), todo esto debida que es una zona con deficiente nivel socioeconómico y cultural.
