description The study analyzed the scientific production of faculty deans and directors of schools of Education in universities in Peru. Under a quantitative approach, an observational, descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out, analyzing the scientific production of school directors and deans of the faculty of education in SCOPUS, SCIELO and other databases in the period 2023-2024. The results showed that the directors and deans published at least one article in their professional career regardless of the database, of which 28.9% published at least one article in journals indexed in SCIELO and/or SCOPUS, showing that the production scientific knowledge of faculty deans and school directors of Education in licensed universities in Peru is low. The H index and the number of citations is lower in faculties and schools of education, the most frequent type of article is the original article. For this reason, the importance of the directors of the faculties of education is highlighted as an example and as leaders to implement guidelines and policies that establish a research culture in universities. Key words: Scientific research, Professional school, Peru, University. El estudio analizó la producción científica de decanos de facultad y directores de escuelas de Educación en universidades del Perú. Bajo un enfoque cuantitativo, se realizó un estudio observacional, descriptivo y de corte transversal, analizando la producción científica de directores de escuela y decanos de facultad de educación en SCOPUS, SCIELO y otras bases de datos en el periodo 2023-2024. Los resultados evidenciaron que los directores y decanos publicaron al menos un artículo en carrera profesional indistintamente de la base de datos, de los cuales un 28,9% publicaron al menos un artículo en revistas indizadas en SCIELO y/o SCOPUS, mostrando que la producción científica de decanos de facultad y directores de escuela de Educación en universidades licenciadas del Perú es baja. El índice H y el número de citas es más bajo en facultades y escuelas de educación, el tipo de artículo más frecuente es el artículo original. Es por ello, que se destaca la importancia de los directivos de las facultades de educación como ejemplo y como líderes para que implementen directrices y políticas que establezcan una cultura de investigación en las universidades. Segundo os autores, a baixa produção científica nas universidades deve-se ao facto de os estudantes terem pouco conhecimento sobre o processo de submissão a revistas científicas e à falta de apoio das universidades e dos seus directores, que, como figuras de alto nível, deveriam motivar e servir de exemplo aos estudantes em termos de publicação científica. Com base no exposto, o objetivo do presente estudo foi analisar a produção científica dos professores decanos e directores das escolas de educação das universidades peruanas. Foi realizado um estudo observacional, descritivo e transversal, analisando a produção científica de 14 directores de escolas e 31 decanos de faculdades de educação nas bases de dados SCOPUS, SCIELO e outras. Os resultados mostraram que 25 (55,6%) dos diretores e reitores publicaram pelo menos um artigo ao longo da vida, independentemente da base de dados, e 13 (28,9%) publicaram pelo menos um artigo em revistas indexadas no SCIELO e/ou SCOPUS. Concluiu-se que a produção científica dos decanos de faculdades e diretores de escolas de educação das universidades peruanas é baixa. Por isso, destaca-se a importância dos diretores das faculdades de educação como exemplo e como líderes para implementar diretrizes e políticas que estabeleçam uma cultura de pesquisa nas universidades.
