The study had an explanatory level, basic type and quasi-experimental design. The population was made up of 335 young people from Cauri, from which a non-random sample of 46 was selected, who were grouped as follows: 20 in the experimental group and 26 in the control group. The data were collected through three evaluative written tests, each with 10 propositions to develop. The data obtained were processed in Microsoft Excel, which allowed the calculation of the statistics corresponding to the descriptive and inferential analysis. The results showed that the test T value is equal to 6.75, located to the right of the critical t equal to 1.645, for 95% reliability and 5% significance, that is, in the rebound range. Consequently, it was proven that the implementation of trigonometric functions in a heuristic mode positively impacts the cognitive development of the young people analyzed.El objetivo del estudio fue evaluar la incidencia de la aplicación de las funciones trigonométricas en modo heurístico, en el desarrollo cognitivo de los adolescentes de Cauri. En este sentido, la variable autónoma se aplicó sobre la variable dependiente para generar un efecto de mejora en el desarrollo cognoscitivo. El estudio tuvo un nivel explicativo, de tipo básico y diseño cuasi experimental. La población estuvo conformada por 335 jóvenes de Cauri, de la que se seleccionó una muestra no aleatoria de 46, que se agruparon de la siguiente forma: 20 en el grupo experimental y 26 en el grupo de control. Los datos se recolectaron mediante tres pruebas escritas evaluativas, cada una con 10 proposiciones para desarrollar. Los datos obtenidos se procesaron en Microsoft Excel, que permitió realizar el cálculo de los estadígrafos correspondientes al análisis descriptivo e inferencial. Los resultados arrojaron que el valor T de prueba es igual a 6,75, ubicándose a la diestra de la t crítica igual a 1,645, para 95% de confiabilidad y 5% de significancia, es decir, en la franja de rebote.
