Th e results were compared with other species of fi ddler crabs of the same genus, fi nding that these characteristics allow these species to be diff erentiated even if they are from diff erent geographical áreas.Los cangrejos violinistas son los braquiuros más representativos en los estuarios, están dentro de la familia Ocypodidae donde los machos presentan un fuerte dimorfi smo sexual por un proceso llamado heteroquelación, también tienen una gran capacidad adaptiva desde su etapa larval, por lo que son necesarios estudios que abarquen parte del desarrollo de estos organismos, Uca ornata (Smith, 1870) es un cangrejo que tiene pocos estudios ecológicos y taxonómicos y la descripción larval es un primer paso, para esto se analizaron larvas de U. ornata obtenidas en cautiverio, donde se realizaron esquemas sobre el primer estadio larval, incluyendo una descripción de las características taxonómicas relevantes con ayuda de microscopía óptica y cámara para microscopio. Los resultados se compararon con otras especies de cangrejos violinistas del mismo género encontrándose que dichas características permiten diferenciar a estas especies aunque sean de áreas geográficas distintas.Universidad Nacional Federico Villarreal.
