The objective of the study was to describe ontological relativism in epistemological constructivism from the pragmatism of the bioecotoximonitor in aquatic ecotoxicology. The concept of the bioecotoximonitor emerges as an innovative solution, seeking to integrate and expand these methodologies for a more dynamic and holistic assessment. Based on ontological relativism, which views ecological reality as a dynamic construct, and epistemological constructivism, which understands knowledge as a construction based on interactions, the bioecotoximonitor offers a robust theoretical framework. This approach allows for a more nuanced understanding of ecosystems by considering the variability in organism responses to pollutants. The pragmatism of the bioecotoximonitor, which integrates qualitative and quantitative information, promises a more comprehensive and adaptive evaluation. It is concluded that, although the bioecotoximonitor requires empirical validation, it represents a significant advancement for more accurate environmental management, addressing the complexity of aquatic ecosystems and offering more effective tools for their conservation.La ecotoxicología acuática enfrenta el reto de evaluar los efectos de los contaminantes en los ecosistemas acuáticos con metodologías tradicionales a menudo insuficientes. El objetivo del estudio fue describir el relativismo ontológico en el constructivismo epistemológico desde el pragmatismo del bioecotoximonitor en ecotoxicología acuática. El concepto de bioecotoximonitor surge como una solución innovadora, buscando integrar y expandir estas metodologías para una evaluación más dinámica y holística. Basado en el relativismo ontológico, que considera la realidad ecológica como un constructo dinámico, y el constructivismo epistemológico, que entiende el conocimiento como una construcción basada en interacciones, el bioecotoximonitor ofrece un marco teórico robusto. Este enfoque permite una comprensión más matizada de los ecosistemas al considerar la variabilidad en la respuesta de los organismos a los contaminantes. El pragmatismo del bioecotoximonitor, que integra información cualitativa y cuantitativa, promete una evaluación más completa y adaptativa. Se concluye que, aunque el bioecotoximonitor requiere validación empírica, representa un avance significativo para una gestión ambiental más precisa, abordando la complejidad de los ecosistemas acuáticos y ofreciendo herramientas más efectivas para su conservación.Universidad Nacional Federico Villarreal.
