description The world diet during the Covid-19 pandemic was affected due to unexpected changes in lifestyle and eating habits, being harmful to health,therefore, this work aims to evaluate nutritional consumption, physical activity and body weight influenced by the variation of energy metabolism, before and during the pandemic in university students. The study was observational, descriptive, longitudinal, analytical and prospective. A survey was conducted with a random group of 103 students made up of 60 women and 43 men, whose 71.8% of the sample ranges between 16 and 20 years. The following selection criteria were considered: weight, height and physical activity, then data were collected and classified using statistical tables. The results showed a percentage increase of 5.63% in the general consumption of carbohydrates, proteins and lipids during the pandemic, and 46.60% of the respondents presented hyperphagia, being a possible cause towards obesity and overweight. Finally, it is concluded that there is a change in energy metabolism during the pandemic, associated with various factors such as: physical activity, food intake for carbohydrates, proteins, lipids and lifestyles.

El estudio fue de tipo observacional, descriptivo, transversal y prospectivo. Se realizó una encuesta realizada a un grupo aleatorio de 103 estudiantes conformado por 60 mujeres y 43 hombres, cuyo 71.8% de la muestra oscila entre los 16 y 20 años. Se consideraron los siguientes criterios de selección: peso, talla y actividad física, posteriormente, se recolectaron los datos y se clasificaron mediante tablas estadísticas. Los resultados mostraron un incremento porcentual de 5.63% en el consumo general de carbohidratos, proteínas y lípidos durante la pandemia., y el 46.60% de los encuestados presentaron hiperfagia, siendo una posible causa hacia la obesidad y sobrepeso. Finalmente se concluye que existe un cambio en el metabolismo energético durante la pandemia, asociados a diversos factores tales como: actividad física, ingesta de alimentos por carbohidratos, proteínas, lípidos y estilos de vida.A alimentação mundial durante a pandemia de Covid-19 foi afetada devido a mudanças inesperadas no estilo de vida e hábitos alimentares, sendo prejudiciais à saúde, portanto, este trabalho tem como objetivo avaliar o consumo nutricional, atividade física e peso corporal influenciados pela variação do metabolismo energético, antes e durante a pandemia em estudantes universitários. O estudo foi observacional, descritivo, transversal e prospectivo. Foi realizado um inquérito a um grupo aleatório de 103 alunos composto por 60 mulheres e 43 homens, dos quais 71,8% da amostra tem entre 16 e 20 anos. Foram considerados os seguintes critérios de seleção: peso, altura e atividade física, em seguida os dados foram coletados e classificados por meio de tabelas estatísticas. Os resultados mostraram um aumento percentual de 5,63% no consumo geral de carboidratos, proteínas e lipídios durante a pandemia, e 46,60% dos entrevistados apresentaram hiperfagia, sendo uma possível causa de obesidade e sobrepeso.
