The author made observations of birds in this zone during 2009-2015 accumulating 40 h of observations in twelve field trips. The results show that 24 aquatic birds and 4 terrestrial birds were observed. The species sighted most frequently were Larus modestus, Phalacrocorax bouganvillii and Pelecanus thagus. The present work is the first report on birds of Pozo Lizas beach in the last ten years.La avifauna de playa Pozo Lizas, en el sur del Perú, ha sido poco estudiada. Esta zona alcanza importancia para la conservación de aves migratorias y está localizada en los alrededores del área marina protegida de Punta Coles. Parte de Pozo Lizas es una playa arenosa con más de 5 km de extensión y ancho variable. Hacia el extremo norte se presenta una orilla con parches rocosos. El autor hizo observaciones de aves durante el período 2009-2015 acumulando 40 h de observaciones en doce salidas de campo. Los resultados muestran que se observaron veinticuatro especies de aves acuáticas y cuatro de aves terrestres. Las especies avistadas con mayor frecuencia fueron: Larus modestus, Phalacrocorax bouganvillii y Pelecanus thagus.
