A total of 149 achiote accessions were collected from the departments of Loreto, San Martin, Junín, Pasco, Huánuco, Ucayali, and Cusco, in Perú. These were then evaluated using ten quantitative and three qualitative capsule and seed descriptors. Undesirable characteristics such as high spinosity and dehiscence predominated, while none of the quantitative descriptors correlated significantly with bixin content. Principal component analysis indicates that the quantitative descriptors (except for bixin content) are statistically significant, forming four clusters. Notably, one of the clusters included accessions characterized by heavy seeds, and another cluster included accessions with high number of seeds and bixin content.Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina2020-12-30info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.lamolina.edu.pe/index.php/jpagronomy/article/view/134110.21704/pja.v4i3.1341Peruvian Journal of Agronomy; Vol. 4 No. 3 (2020): September to December; 93-103Peruvian Journal of Agronomy; Vol. 4 Núm. 3 (2020): September to December; 93-1032616-4477reponame:Revistas - Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molinainstname:Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molinainstacron:UNALMenghttps://revistas.lamolina.edu.pe/index.php/jpagronomy/article/view/1341/pdf_47Derechos de autor 2020 Juan Nolasco-Chumpitaz, Paul Ccoyllo-Llacsa, Gabriela Koc-Sanchez, Percy Medina-Moralesinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessoai:revistas.lamolina.edu.pe:article/13412025-05-05T19:33:56Z |
