Sumario:This essay represents a critical and reflective analysis of anthropocentric educational systems and the proposal of a biocentric education whose center is life and where human beings establish significant and horizontal interactions with their peers and with nature. The current context with educational systems conditioned by the economies and socio-political frameworks within a neoliberal economy prioritizes competitiveness, limits critical thinking and dialogue. A rethinking of education is necessary to help people learn to live and coexist, as Delors had already pointed out, being respect for life and harmonious and affective coexistence with a reflective and experiential approach in pedagogical practice, in that we value the integration of the affective and the intellectual. We propose an affective intelligence and a unique perception of the sacredness of life.
