The methodology employed comprised 4 stages: a diagnosis of the current situation, generation of inventory redistribution proposals based on ABC classification, implementation and evaluation of results. Inventory rotation and duration performance indicators were measured prior and following implementation, achieving favorable results across 5 products with butter as the standout, whose weekly rotation was increased by 32,92 units while its warehouse time was cut by two days. The information was collected by observing and counting physical inventory units paired with verifying the inventory in the system. The study concluded that inventory management is a key activity for any organization, food companies in particular, since the products are perishable and prone to generating loss where it is not properly managed or rotated.El objetivo de la presente investigación fue realizar una redistribución de inventarios basada en la clasificación ABC de mercancías y evaluar la mejora en los indicadores de desempeño del almacén en una empresa productora de alimentos en Sinaloa, México. La metodología empleada constó de cuatro etapas: diagnóstico de la situación actual; generación de propuestas de redistribución de inventario basada en la clasificación ABC; implementación y también evaluación de resultados. Se midieron indicadores de desempeño de rotación y duración de inventario antes, así como después de la implementación. Se obtuvieron resultados favorables en los cinco productos; sobresalió el inventario de manteca, en donde incrementó su rotación semanal en 32,92 unidades, mientras que su duración dentro del almacén se redujo dos días. Para recolectar la información, se empleó la observación, el conteo de unidades de inventario en físico aunado a la verificación en el sistema.
