To this end, the author begins by explaining the contemporary concept of Consular Law in accordance with international regulations and authoritative doctrine. Subsequently, he analyses Peruvian legislation and how it influences consular institutions and their actions. Finally, he focuses on explaining the main challenges that the executors of consular policy must face today.En el presente texto, el autor aborda la concepción contemporánea de Derecho Consular y como ésta se entiende a la luz de la legislación internacional y del ordenamiento jurídico peruano. A la par, describe los desafíos que las instituciones consulares peruanas tienen que afrontar en el siglo XXI y sobre todo en la era post COVID-19. Para cumplir con esta finalidad, el autor comienza explicando el concepto contemporáneo de Derecho Consular acorde con la normativa internacional y la doctrina autorizada. De forma posterior, analiza la legislación peruana y cómo ésta influye en las instituciones consulares y en su accionar. Por último, se enfoca en explicar los principales desafíos que los ejecutores de la política consular deben afrontar en la actualidad.Universidad de Lima.
