Methods. A quantitative approach methodology and descriptive scope were used toknow the answers of the students, through the application of a digital survey with closed and multiple-choice questions. Results. The inadequate use of information and communication technologies in the teaching-learning processes is highlighted, as well as the low use of these educational tools. Conclusions. It is shown that teachers are not trained or prepared for virtual education, and that teachers and students do not know how ICTs are implemented Objetivo. Develar la percepción de las competencias digitales que presentan los docentes de segundo ciclo de nivelsecundario en un centro educativo en la República Dominicana, percibidas por los discentes que estudian o hanestudiado en el centro objeto de estudio, en la implementación de la educación virtual pos-COVID-19 para el periodo 2022-2023, a raíz del paso de la formación presencial a virtual de manera masiva en una zona con muchas limitaciones en la conexión de internet y con una alta precariedad. Métodos. Se utilizó una metodología de enfoque cuantitativo y alcance descriptivo para conocer las respuestas de los discentes, a través de la aplicación de una encuesta digitalcon preguntas cerradas y de selección múltiple. Resultados. Se destaca el uso inadecuado de las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación en los procesos de enseñanza-aprendizaje, así como también el poco uso de estas herramientas educativas. Conclusiones. Se demuestra que los docentes no están capacitados ni preparados para la educación virtual, además de que los docentes y los discentes desconocen cómo se implementan las TIC.
