Objective. To determine the influence of the use of clinical simulators on learning how to handle the urethral catheter in nursing students from a Public Education Institute of Tingo María; Huánuco, 2016. Methods. It was a prospective, analytical, crosssectional and observational study; with a relational design and a sample population of 39 nursing students, from the 3rd cycle of studies, from the Basic Nursing II course, to whom an observation guide for the management of the urethral catheter and a questionnaire on the use of simulators was applied, prior validity and reliability. Informed consent was taken into consideration. The bivariate analysis was by Spearman's Rho test. Results. The level of learning of urethral catheter management by nursing students was high [76.9% (30)]. 82.1% (32) use the simulator appropriately. When relating the use of simulators and the learning of the management of the urethral catheter by the nursing students under study, in the preliminary phase, the execution phase and the surveillance phase, statistical significance was found (p <0.05), therefore that the null hypotheses were rejected. Conclusion. The use of clinical simulators influences proper learning of urethral catheter management. |

Determinar la influencia del uso de los simuladores clínicos en el aprendizaje del manejo del catéter uretral en los estudiantes de enfermería de un Instituto de Educación Pública De Tingo María; Huánuco, 2016. Métodos. Fue un estudio prospectivo, analítico, transversal y observacional; con un diseño relacional y una población muestral de 39 estudiantes de enfermería, del 3er ciclo de estudios, del curso de enfermería Básica II, a quienes se les aplicó una guía de observación del manejo de catéter uretral y un cuestionario del uso de simuladores, previa validez y confiabilidad. Se tuvo en consideración el consentimiento informado. El análisis bivariado fue mediante la prueba Rho de Spearman. Resultados. El nivel del aprendizaje del manejo del catéter uretral por los estudiantes de enfermería fue de nivel alto [76, 9 % (30)]. El 82, 1 % (32), usan el simulador de forma adecuada. Al relacionar el uso de los simuladores y el aprendizaje del manejo del catéter uretral por los estudiantes de enfermería en estudio, en la fase preliminar, de ejecución y en la fase de vigilancia se halló significancia estadística (p < 0, 05), por lo que se rechazó las hipótesis nulas. Conclusión. El uso de los simuladores clínicos influye en el aprendizaje adecuado del manejo del catéter uretral Objetivo. Métodos. Este foi um estudo prospectivo, analítico, transversal e observacional; com um desenho relacional e uma população amostral de 39 estudantes de enfermagem, do 3º ciclo de estudos, do curso Básico de Enfermagem II, aos quais foi aplicado um guia de observação sobre manejo de cateteres uretrais e um questionário sobre o uso de simuladores, validade prévia e confiabilidade. O consentimento informado foi levado em consideração. A análise bivariada foi feita pelo teste Rho da Spearman. Resultados. O nível de aprendizagem da gestão de cateteres uretrais pelos estudantes de enfermagem foi alto [76, 9% (30)]. O simulador foi usado adequadamente por 82,1 % (32). Ao relacionar o uso dos simuladores e o aprendizado do gerenciamento do cateter uretral pelos enfermeiros estudantes em estudo, nas fases preliminar, de implementação e de vigilância, foi encontrada significância estatística (p < 0,05), de modo que as hipóteses nulas foram rejeitadas. Conclusão.
