It is a cinema that talks of universal human issues from the author’s perspective. A film production more proper for a museum than for the mass entertainment circuit.A pesar de su escasa producción, Víctor Erice (1940) es uno de los directores españoles más reconocidos en el panorama internacional, como maestro de cineastas. Autor de culto, lento y obsesivo en sus temas, celoso de su soberanía de artista, hace un cine a contracorriente de las leyes del mercado, aunque sus tres grandes largometrajes recibieran importantes premios europeos. Dos de sus últimas obras cinematográficas, Alumbramiento (2002) y La Morte Rourge (2006), que no han sido estrenadas en circuito comercial español, han podido verse recientemente en la muestra Erice-Kiarostami, Correspondencias, que viaja en febrero al Centro Pompidou de París, tras recibir 73.000 visitas en Barcelona y Madrid. Se trata de un cine que, como las grandes obras de arte de todos los tiempos, habla sobre los temas universales del ser humano en clave de autor. Un cine contemplativo más apto para un museo que para exhibirse a través de los actuales cauces de la industria del espectáculo de masas.Universidad de Piura.
