The objective of the research was to understand the experiences of company / loneliness, protection / helplessness and security / fear in hospitalized students through their narrative; the general theory was the symbolic interactionism, the substantive theory was the hospital pedagogy and the thematic unit the narrative; was carried out through the qualitative approach, ethnomethodological methods and observation, with a sample of eight hospitalized students with whom the semi-structured interview was used, guided by an interview script, the results were subjected to content analysis, it was concluded that through the narrative hospitalized children showed predominance of feelings of companionship compared to those of loneliness, predominance of feelings of protection against those of helplessness and predominance of feeling of security against those of fear, they needed to be heard, understood and also receive a specialized education . It is recommended that future research address the phenomenon of research in populations of different regions and with a diachronic design.La pedagogía hospitalaria es una modalidad educativa considerada por algunos dentro de los alcances de la educación inclusiva y por otros como un servicio dentro de la educación especial, en la medida que atiende de modo preferente a hospitalizados crónicos, terminales y en menor medida a hospitalizados transitorios y con patologías reversibles. El objetivo de la investigación fue comprender las vivencias de compañía/soledad, protección/desamparo y seguridad/miedo en estudiantes hospitalizados a través de su narrativa; la teoría general fue el interaccionismo simbólico, la teoría sustantiva fue la pedagogía hospitalaria y la unidad temática la narrativa; se realizó a través del enfoque cualitativo, métodos etnometodológico y de observación, con una muestra de ocho estudiantes hospitalizados con quienes se empleó la entrevista semiestructurada orientada por un guion de entrevista, los resultados fueron sometidos a análisis de contenido, se concluyó que a través de la narrativa los niños hospitalizados mostraron predominancia de sentimientos de compañía frente a los de soledad, predominancia de sentimientos de protección frente a los de desamparo y predominancia de sentimiento de seguridad frente a los de miedo, necesitaban ser escuchados, comprendidos y además recibir una educación especializada.
