The study presented here aims to determine the relationship between socioemotional skills and cooperative learning in secondary school students of a public educational institution in Ate, Peru. The approach used was quantitative, basic and non-experimental - transversal design, correlational level. The population included 145 students. A questionnaire and a survey technique were used to collect data. Its validation was carried out with expert judgment. For reliability, it was submitted to a pilot test with 20 students; using Cronbach's Alpha coefficient, the variables reached a value of 0.838 in socioemotional skills and 0.830 in relation to collaborative learning, presenting a strong reliability. The statistical results showed a considerable positive correlation, with a value of 0.707 of Spearman's Rho and a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05. It was concluded that, by increasing students' socioemotional skills, cooperative learning can be carried out with better skills, a space that leads to the achievement of common objectives for their own and others benefit.Las habilidades socioemocionales son trascendentales para el desarrollo y bienestar de los estudiantes. Permiten el fortalecimiento de una sana convivencia entre los agentes educativos, y por ende la puesta en práctica de derechos y deberes, donde prima no sólo el bienestar individual, sino el bien común. El estudio presentado tiene como objetivo determinar la relación entre las habilidades socioemocionales y el aprendizaje cooperativo en estudiantes de educación secundaria de una Institución Educativa pública de Ate – Perú. El enfoque utilizado fue cuantitativo, de tipo básico y diseño no experimental – transversal, nivel correlacional. La población abarcó 145 estudiantes. Se empleó un cuestionario y como técnica la encuesta para recopilar datos. Su validación se llevó a cabo con juicio de expertos. Para la fiabilidad, se sometió a una prueba piloto con 20 estudiantes; haciendo uso del coeficiente de Alfa de Cronbach, las variables alcanzaron un valor de 0,838 en habilidades socioemocionales y 0,830 en relación con aprendizaje colaborativo, presentando una fuerte confiabilidad. Se utilizó el Programa Estadístico SPSS versión 25. Los resultados estadísticos, comprobaron una correlación positiva considerable, con un valor de 0,707 de Rho de Spearman y un nivel de significancia de 0,000 < 0,05. Se concluyó que, al acrecentar las habilidades socioemocionales en los estudiantes, el aprendizaje cooperativo podrá llevarse a cabo con una mejor destreza, espacio que conlleva al logro de objetivos comunes para un aprovechamiento propio y de los demás.
