The perception towards scientific research of the students of a program for working adults was compared according to gender, age and professional career, taking into account the following aspects: personal interest in research, link between science, society and methodology, scientific research as a way of being and general opinion about scientific research. We worked with a quantitative approach and comparative descriptive design, performing the fieldwork in the 2018-I semester with 52 students who were studying the thesis seminar, who wished to participate in the study as volunteers, applying the adapted Uribe questionnaire, Márquez, Amador and Chávez (2011). The main findings show that 42.3% of students perceive research positively, while 57.7% are indifferent or disagree. No differences were found by gender, age and professional career.El estudio surge en el marco de los cambios en el sistema universitario a partir de la vigencia de la Ley Universitaria 30220 que norma la elaboración de trabajos de investigación. Se comparó según género, edad y carrera profesional, la percepción hacia la investigación científica de los estudiantes de un programa para adultos que trabajan, teniendo en cuenta los siguientes aspectos: interés personal por la investigación, vínculo entre ciencia, sociedad y metodología, investigación científica como una forma de ser y opinión general sobre la investigación científica. Se trabajó bajo un enfoque cuantitativo y diseño descriptivo comparativo, realizándose el trabajo de campo en el semestre 2018-I con 52 estudiantes que cursaban la asignatura de Seminario de tesis, que desearon participar en el estudio de forma voluntaria, aplicándose el cuestionario adaptado de Uribe, Márquez, Amador y Chávez (2011). Los principales hallazgos evidencian que el 42,3 % de estudiantes perciben de manera positiva a la investigación, mientras que el 57,7 % se encuentran indiferentes o en desacuerdo.
