The written language that "speaks" to those who know how to read it was one more element of their age-old oppression. Since access to writing was denied, the monolingual Quechua-speaker also believed that only Spanish possessed this unattainable power. However, from the first decades of the Colony, the chroniclers and missionaries wrote Quechua in their reports, stories and religious books; in doing so, logically, they tried to reproduce what they heard with the only instrument they handled, the Spanish alphabet of the time, which was still in the process of being formed. Universidad Católica San Pablo1987-12-04info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionArtículo revisado por paresapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.ucsp.edu.pe/index.php/Allpanchis/article/view/98410.36901/allpanchis.v19i29/30.984Allpanchis; Vol. 19 Núm. 29/30 (1987): Lengua, nación y mundo andino; 469-481Allpanchis; Vol. 19 No. 29/30 (1987): Nation Language and Andean World; 469-4812708-89600252-883510.36901/allpanchis.v19i29/30reponame:Revistas - Universidad Católica San Pabloinstname:Universidad Católica San Pabloinstacron:UCSPspahttps://revistas.ucsp.edu.pe/index.php/Allpanchis/article/view/984/1082Derechos de autor 1987 Madeleine Zúñiga C. http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessoai:revistas.ucsp.edu.pe:article/9842024-04-27T20:27:20Z |
