The articles published here are the result of the constant, silent and patient work of a new generation that, despite the difficulties of research in this country, has been developing efforts to address new issues from various approaches and fields such as Cultural History , economic-social, legal and historiography. The composition of this selection of articles also responds to the express purpose of presenting works on regional history, dedicating an issue to one or more particular regions from time to time.Este número ha sido concebido con la finalidad de dar a conocer recientes trabajos historiográficos sobre Arequipa, una región claramente significativa en el Perú que en los últimos años tiene en su haber la novedosa y fructífera producción intelectual de varios jóvenes investigadores. Los artículos aquí publicados son fruto del constante, silencioso y paciente trabajo de una nueva generación que, a pesar de las dificultades propias para la investigación en este país, viene desarrollando esfuerzos por abordar nuevos temas a partir de diversos enfoques y campos como la Historia cultural, económico-social, jurídica y la historiografía.
