They have a significant prophetic and apocalyptic presence of the Christian God, which is what constitutes them in a theological place, that is, in a privileged place of revelation of God, praxis and Christian reflection."Dios ha escogido a los que el mundo tiene por tontos, para avergonzar a los abios; y ha escogido a los que el mundo tiene por débiles, para avergonzar a los fuertes. Dios ha escogido a los que en el mundo no tienen importancia y son despreciados, es decir, a los que no son nada, para poner fin a los que son algo, de modo que nadie pueda sentirse orgulloso delante de Dios". (1 Cor. 1, 27-29). Los pobres en el mundo andino son parte de este sector escogido por Dios del que habla San Pablo.
